Kravattitehdas – A hotspot for creativity
Elimäenkatu 9, Helsinki, Finland
The story of Kravattitehdas dates back to the 1930s when a tie factory (Elimäenkatu 9A and later 9B) was established. The tie factory would become a famous landmark and symbol of Finnish entrepreneurship. In a factory next door, scarves were being produced by the Helsingin Kutomo (Elimäenkatu 15).
In 2017 we acquired the three buildings with a vision to revitalise them to meet contemporary working life requirements while preserving their original architectural style. We wanted to embrace the brand of the old tie factory, with Elimäenkatu 9a as the heart of the asset and the other two buildings (E9b and E15) supporting it. The development was completed in 2020, and now Kravattitehdas is once again attracting creative industries in the heart of Vallila.
Kravattitehdas not only offers a pleasant work environment but also a sustainable one. We have replaced the old factory windows and completed various energy-saving projects, making the property compliant with the Paris Agreement. Additionally, the asset has been certified to BREEAM In-Use at the Very good level. We take pride in enhancing our property services to accommodate businesses of all sizes.
