DN-skrapan
Address: Rålambsvägen 17
DN-skrapan was designed by Paul Hedqvist and inaugurated on 24 September 1964. It has 26 floors and stands 84 metres tall. The façade is divided into bays clad in light grey-blue and white ceramic tiles. At the very top of the roof is one of Stockholm’s most well-known signs, with 3-metre-high letters that alternate between “Dagens Nyheter” and “Expressen”. Today, DN-skrapan is home to a range of businesses, as well as a gourmet restaurant on the top floor with sweeping views over central Stockholm.
Tidningshuset
Address: Gjörwellsgatan 30 and Rålambsvägen 15
The low-rise section of the DN-skrapan was built at the same time as the high-rise and is now known as Tidningshuset. The main entrance is at Gjörwellsgatan 30, but there is also an entrance from Rålambsvägen 15.
Originally, Tidningshuset contained the newspapers’ typesetting, printing, packing hall and workshops. Today, the building is primarily offices, and the newspaper editorial teams are joined by considerate businesses from many different sectors.
DN-skrapan and Tidningshuset are located in Tidningskvarteren today, an area that has been developed into a modern, vibrant office district with a local center of restaurants, coffee shops, and everyday services such as a grocery store, pharmacy, and Systembolaget.
