G22 on Gjörwellsgata, known to many Stockholmers as the Sweco building, or remembered as the SvD building from when Svenska Dagbladet was based here, is now referred to as G22 & G28. The building comprises a high-rise section with offices, where the newspaper’s editorial team was housed, and a lower section, G28, which originally accommodated the newspaper’s printing press.

The building is 14 storeys high and built in red Mälardalen brick, with the exception of the façade at ground-floor level of the tower section, which is clad in red-and-black ceramic tiles. G22 & G28 has been classified as “blue” by the Stockholm City Museum, meaning the building is considered to have exceptionally high cultural and historical value. It is also regarded as an important landmark at the northern end of Västerbron.

A major refurbishment is currently under way at Gjörwellsgatan 22 and 28, where we are creating modern, flexible office environments with generous proportions, a strong identity, and views over Riddarfjärden.

G22 & G28 are located in Tidningskvarteren today, an area that has been developed into a modern, vibrant office district with a local center of restaurants, coffee shops, and everyday services such as a grocery store, pharmacy, and Systembolaget.
