Areim renews lease agreement with Bonnier News in Tidningskvarteren
30 June 2025Areim and Bonnier News AB have signed a seven-year lease agreement, covering roughly 13,000 sqm of lettable area in Trängkåren 7 in Tidningskvarteren, Stockholm. Bonnier News has been a tenant of the property since 1964 and as part of the continued collaboration, Areim will be commissioned by Bonnier News to manage the construction project for the maintenance and modernisation of the office space, which is scheduled to begin in autumn.
Bonnier News, one of Sweden’s leading news providers and the Nordic region’s largest media group, has a strong historical connection to Tidningskvarteren since 1964.
“Areim is a responsive and committed landlord who has created excellent conditions for us to develop and modernise our work environment from a long-term perspective,” says Philip Troedsson, Head of Procurement, Real Estate and Facilities at Bonnier News.
“We are very pleased to continue our co-operation with Bonnier News, which is a committed, knowledgeable and dynamic tenant. It is difficult to imagine more valuable and dedicated partners than Bonnier News and Sweco in the continued development of Tidningskvarteren,” says Christian Bouvier, Head of Asset Management Office, Sweden, at Areim.
Tidningskvarteren is the name of the area around Trängkåren 6 (the “Sweco-building”) and Trängkåren 7 (“DN-skrapan” and “Tidningshuset”) located in Marieberg, Stockholm. Areim is developing a vibrant inclusive and open neighbourhood for those who live, work and spend time in the area. The development is based on circular urban planning that aims to renew without tearing down. The investment has so far resulted in a more natural connection between the properties, where several restaurants, including the newly opened Restaurant Typ, and a gym have opened their doors.
