Areim-owned EcoDataCenter raises SEK 6.7 billion in debt financing to scale up operations

9 September 2025

EcoDataCenter, owned by the Areim DC Fund, has successfully raised SEK 6.7 billion in debt financing from Deutsche Bank Private Credit and Infrastructure. The debt facility will be used to scale up operations and accelerate expansion across the Nordic market. Earlier this year, SEK 5 billion was secured from leading institutional investors for the Areim DC Fund, bringing total capital raised to SEK 20 billion over the past three years.

“We are delighted by the strong and growing interest in EcoDataCenter, as demonstrated by the secured financing from Deutsche Bank. The sector has rapidly become one of the key real estate assets classes, driven by the exponential growth in cloud computing, AI and digital services. This funding allows us to accelerate expansion and invest further in scalable, energy-efficient infrastructure, which is critical to the digital economy,” says Robert Björk, Fund Manager of the Areim DC Fund at Areim.

Areim took a majority stake in EcoDataCenter in 2018, and the company is since 2023 fully owned by the Areim DC Fund.
