Areim expands its light industrial portfolio with acquisition spanning four Swedish cities

16 September 2025

Areim makes its largest acquisition to date in the light industrial sector. The portfolio comprises 14 properties across Stockholm, Göteborg, Västerås, and Norrköping, with approximately 72,000 sqm of lettable area. With this acquisition, Areim establishes a presence in Norrköping.

The properties are approximately 92 per cent let and are strategically located in each city’s light industrial areas near retail hubs and with direct access to major motorways. Areim is planning a series of development and refurbishment initiatives aimed at improving the attractiveness, utilisation and energy performance of the portfolio.

“We are very pleased to have acquired a well-managed portfolio that complements our existing assets. The potential within this sector across several regional cities remains strong, and we are excited to establish a presence in Norrköping through one of Areim’s largest transactions to date in the sector. We look forward to continued collaboration with our tenants and to contributing to the ongoing development of the properties in line with our strategy,” says Kristoffer Ultenius, Investment Director at Areim.

In the past year, Areim has expanded its Swedish light industrial portfolio from approx. 275,000 sqm to approx. 365,000 sqm of lettable area. The portfolio now consists of roughly 80 properties in Greater Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, Västerås, and Norrköping, and also includes a significant volume of unused building rights as well as ongoing development.

The seller is Corem Property Group. Closing will be completed on 1 October.
