Trygg Hansa block becomes more accessible to the public as new retail space is added

27 June 2018

Residents of Kungsholmen will soon gain access to 10,000 square meters of retail space including
stores and services such as gym, grocery store and a Systembolaget. Real estate owner Areim takes
another step in the development of the Trygg Hansa block by introducing a new retail floor.

“We are already discussing the next steps of this integrated concept with a number of stakeholders.
By providing residents with additional convenience services, the block will become more vibrant. This
part of the city deserves a place which is accessible also past office hours,” says Erik Ullsten, asset
and development manager at Areim.

The pavilion on the corner of Scheelegatan and Fleminggatan will serve as the entrance to the new
retail space, which has been developed together with Koncept architects and Equator Stockholm.
Visitors will be able to access a brand-new Ica Kvantum supermarket, a Systembolaget and a gym by
taking the escalators down the new floor. The ambition is to open a café and a restaurant on the
pavilion’s ground floor.

“This block houses several hidden gems. By opening up spaces that are currently inaccessible for the
public, we can create 10,000 square meters of retail space and create new flows through the block,”
says Erik Ullsten.
