Erik Vikbladh new CIO at Areim

28 April 2023

Erik Vikbladh takes over as the new Chief Investment Officer at Areim. Erik, former Head of Investments Sweden, takes over the role from Erika Olsén with immediate effect. Erika remains within Areim in the role of Partner, Investments.

Erik has worked with transactions at Areim since 2013 and has been responsible for the transaction team in Sweden since 2020. Before Areim, Erik worked, among other things, in investment banking at J.P. Morgan in London.

“It feels great to become responsible for the further development of Areim’s transaction activities and our investment strategies. The current market situation and overall change in the real estate industry give us great opportunities for attractive investments in several sectors throughout the Nordics. We will continue to pursue our strategy and do responsible investments creating long-term values,” says Erik Vikbladh, CIO at Areim.

In connection with the change, Julia Mejegård takes the role of Head of investments Sweden and will lead the Swedish transaction team together with Carl-August Westberg. Erika will continue to work closely with the transaction team to find new business opportunities, as well as work with strategic matters for Areim.

“It feels fantastic that Areim continues to develop through existing employees, where changed roles and increased responsibility are part of our firm belief in a broadened leadership. Erik, Julia, and Carl-August are all strong contributors to our culture, have a drive and interest in business, and have what is required in a market that offers new types of opportunities. I feel very confident in handing over the role of CIO to Erik,” says Erika Olsén, Partner, Investments at Areim.
