Eken 6

In 2014, Areim acquired Eken 6, also known as Chokladfabriken – The Chocolate Factory, in Sundbyberg, just northwest of central Stockholm. Ivar Tengbom designed the property, which was purpose-built in 1918 for the chocolate manufacturer Marabou. Since then, the property has been expanded and modernized several times.

Areim carried out customized tenant improvements as well as upgrades to the building standard. The restaurant and the conference space were renovated and a gym was established. In addition, extensive energy-saving measures were implemented and a geothermal heating and cooling system was installed.

Today, Chokladfabriken is a modern office building. The large windows and the atriums in the center of the structure make the floors bright and spacious. It is conveniently situated close to public transport and local amenities in nearby Sundbybergs Centrum.

In May 2016, Chokladfabriken was Green Building certified, and in the same year it was sold to Atrium Ljungberg. At the time of the sale, most of the property was leased.
