Areim acquires the Gloria asset in Central Helsinki

22 April 2021

Areim has acquired two office buildings, extending from Pieni Roobertinkatu to Ratakatu and Yrjönkatu in central Helsinki, from the Finnish Pharmacist Union and HGK. The asset consists of approximately 7,000 sqm of lettable space. HGK will remain as a minority owner and maintain possession of their sporting facilities which they have owned since the construction of the building in 1928.

– This investment is a great new value-add acquisition for Areim in Finland. The asset is centrally located in Helsinki and has a compelling history. We are eager to start working with it to meet modern user requirements while cherishing the property’s special feel and value, says Markus Laine, Head of Areim Finland.

The properties provide opportunities for various development routes through major investments and reconfiguration of the premises. Areim intends to fully refurbish the buildings during the upcoming years.

This acquisition complements Areim’s existing direct office portfolio in Finland which is concentrated in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Areim’s other Finnish holdings comprise a diversified residential portfolio in the country’s largest cities and a position in Sponda.
