Areim Acquires 40,000 Square Meters of Office Space on Stora Essingen in Stockholm
23 December 2019Areim has acquired the property Ångtvätten 22 on the island Stora Essingen in Stockholm from the life insurance company AMF Fastigheter. The property comprises approximately 40,000 square meters of office space with great potential for development. The building consists of three interconnected units with an original section dating from 1939 and two extensions from the 80’s and 90’s respectively. It is attractively situated on the waterfront near bridges and walking paths along the water of Essingefjärden. The light rail line Tvärbanan and bus stops are also conveniently found within a short walking distance of the property. The property has also close access to the Essingeleden highway.
“We’re acquiring a well-maintained piece of real estate with great potential. Our aim is to sustainably restore the entire or parts of the property. The current zoning plan for the area includes housing development which is also interesting. Our primary objective is to do what is in the best long-term interest of the property,” says Carl-August Westberg at Areim.
